Artist Statement

My philosophy of Art is pretty simple in that I feel convicted/compelled to produce and create art which honors the Lord Jesus Christ.  This presentation of art that glorifies Christ is done by:
- Displaying the on-going battle between good and evil.
- Highlighting the world and its imagery with its rough hewn imperfections as something worth redeeming.
- The all important fact that there is hope for man individually
Spotlighting the honor of Manhood.

In short, art is something which should give people encouragement...hope, which is exactly what Christ does for mankind.

Born in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, Jerry Jones began drawing at an early age. His interest in art started from the "Pop" art pages of comic books bought for him by his dad: Batman and Spider-Man, as drawn by the likes of Steve Ditko, Jim Aparo, and Jack Kirby (to name a few) were the artistic masters in whose work he was most interested.

Still, the greatest influence over his life and work occurred once he became a Christian. Jesus Christ and the Truth of the Bible changed his life and the direction he would pursue from that moment. Prior to attending Kennesaw College, where he received a Bachelors in Fine Art, his mind would be set on illustrating and studying art which was firmly based on the truth of God’s Word.  His best friend was and still is the young lady he met while in high school (who also attended the same church), Kim Byerly.  They wed in 1988 and are still happily married today.
Upon graduating, he worked at Home Depot for eleven years before embarking on his first attempt at custom illustration and printing under the name of “Living Stone Wear." This would last for 16 years, but eventually would come to an end in 2012.  Since then, he has turned his attention to full time custom illustration covering everything from storyboard work, logo design, and fine art pen and ink work. His art media of choice is pen and ink along with some water color.  When not working, he and his wife, Kim, enjoy time together along with their son and daughter, Austin and Ashley.
